Anterior Border Layer of Dark-Brown Iris
Dark-brown iris (specimen OO). Twenty-five nuclei are observed in this photomicrograph. Others may be hidden by pigment. The melanocytes have abundant cytoplasm laden with melanin. Large individual melanin granules are readily resolved (1 micron Epon section, X 250).
